Nick has 25 years experience as a coach and mentor and for the last 15 years has practised at senior and executive level in the public, private and third sector. He is an ILM qualified coach and mentor and licensed to use numerous psychometric instruments in support of client’s coaching and development to further aide their personal understanding and progress.
He is accustomed to working in fast paced, diverse and challenging environments. He understands that ‘personal synergy’ is an important factor between coach and client and how it can maximise the client’s experience and benefit. To this end, the first meeting is treated as a ‘taster session’, to ensure a working relationship is achievable; the client feels comfortable and realistic expectations are agreed and set.
Nick employs a non directive style of coaching but recognises the benefits of mentoring at appropriate times, together with understanding that confidentiality is a key aspect of any coaching relationship – Nick guards this important issue with utmost care.
He is a strong advocate of clients using Reflective Practice as part of their coaching programme and has seen its benefits and positive results at first hand in the achievement of goals, in professional performance and personal development. Many clients continue to use it, post their coaching programme, recognising its power in aiding clarity of thinking and critical decision making.
Sessions vary according to circumstances, need and requirements but tend to consist of 6 to10 pre-planned sessions; usually held off site from the clients workplace. In exceptional circumstances and subject to negotiation, immediate additional support is available if the client is facing a crisis or challenging circumstances.
